Julie Bender's technique is to use tools that allow her flexibility to develop her unique style. Light, gradual strokes and smooth, subtle shading are her hallmark in attaining fine detail in each work of art. Pyrography, the art of burning or scorching on a natural surface was an art form practiced since the dawn of recorded time by Egyptian and African tribesmen fascinated by the mysterious beauty and power of fire.

Modern day pyrography is typically done with solid-point tools, which resemble but are more sophisticated than soldering irons or hot wire tools. These tools are electrically heated by equipment that may allow temperatures to be adjusted, thereby producing a great range of natural tones and shades.

I am moved by the graceful synthesis of a smooth wooden surface and the heat infused within to create rich sepia. As I ‘paint with heat,’ I feel a certain parallel between the wild and natural spirits that embody my subjects and the organic and distinctively unforgiving nature of my medium."

A series of amazing photos released by the Red Bull Stratos project shows a skydiver's 13-mile leap.Austrian adventurer Felix Baumgartner is hoping to make the world's highest skydive. As a practice run, he leaped from a custom built capsule at an altitude of 71,581 feet (21,818 meters), marking his personal highest-jump ever.

At the edge of space, with virtually no atmosphere, the pressurised suit and oxygen are vital as he contemplates the view from the capsule attached to his 100ft helium balloon. He plans to try a world record jump from 23 miles above the Earth. The record for the highest free fall is held by Joe Kittinger, a retired Air Force officer from Florida. He jumped from 102,800 feet - 19.5 miles - in 1960.

Mr Baumgartner did a practice version over Roswell, New Mexico.About eight minutes after he leaped, the skydiver landed roughly 30 miles (48 kilometers) from Roswell, N.M., where his capsule had been carried aloft by a balloon.

Liu Bolin was born in China’s Shandong province in 1973, and he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Shandong College of Arts in 1995 and his Master of Fine Arts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 2001. His work has been exhibited in museums around the world. Also known as "The Invisible Man", Liu Bolin's most popular works are from his "Hiding in the City" series; photographic works that began as performance art in 2005.

Built by a consortium of racing firms and suppliers headed by designer Ben Bowlby and endurance racing backer Don Panos, the DeltaWing was created as a possible alternative to IndyCars. When Indy racing decided to stick with a more traditional design, the DeltaWing's backers looked for other opportunities to prove their concept.

Emma, a 17 year-old model wears the wedding dress with the longest tail in the world. The 2,750 meter long train broke a previous record of 2,488 meters. It is made of 4,700 meters of material using 1,857 needles, taking 100 days to made.The Guinness Book of World Records declared the item on the silk and lace gown as the longest train, beating the previous record held by a Dutch designer.

The lace was imported from France, while taffeta and other fabrics were purchased from Italy, costing several thousand pounds, she added.Beating a Dutch designer to the record had an added dimension for Romanians, as many are still angry after the Netherlands opposed its entry into the European Union's visa-free travel zone.

The Amazing Spider-Man is an upcoming American superhero film directed by Marc Webb, based on the comic book of the same name and starring Andrew Garfield as the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. It is the fourth Columbia Pictures film that portrays Spider-Man in film and is a reboot of the film series that stars the superhero.

Andrew Garfield is replaced Tobey Maguire as the new Spider-Man in the next film.The cast includes Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors. The film will portray Parker as his super powers are evolving in high school.

The Amazing Spider-Man is to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D. A sequel of the film is being planned for release in 2014 with James Vanderbilt hired to again write the screenplay.
